The Live Stiffs Tour (3rd October – 5th November 1977)


“Sex and Drugs and Rock and Roll”, the Ian Dury And The Blockheads sweaty anthem to thousands of ne’er do wells, was the obvious climax to the first Live Stiffs Tour late in 1977, which featured five performers, interchanging band mates and line up billing. Along with Dury, the travelling bands from this first Dave Robinson and Jake Riviera (Stiff Records co-founders) organized tour included Elvis Costello & The AttractionsWreckless Eric & The New RocketsNick Lowe’s Last Chicken In The Shop and Larry Wallis’ Psychedelic Rowdies.
