Hackskeptic’s 500 Greatest Songs: Roxy Music – Street Life

Fans deeply perturbed by the loss of inspirational keyboard architect Brian Eno, would have been astonished by the first song released without him. The opening cacophony of street noise leads to a quick fire, pulsing, totally absorbing single. For the band that couldn’t hold two Bry(i)ans, even Eno confirmed in later years that the first album without him(“Stranded”), which opened with this song, is still his favourite.

  1. Incredible tune. Depending on the day, I could easily pick this album as my favourite of theirs… there’s just not a dud track.
