Hackskeptic’s 500 Greatest Songs: AC/DC – Back In Black

191 – AC/DC – Back In Black (1980)
Written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Brian Johnson
Produced by Robert John “Mutt” Lange
Label – Atlantic

When new lead singer Brian Johnston was asked by the band to provide lyrics to honour recently departed singer Bon Scott, his response was to write something befitting the hard living style Scott had eventually succumbed to. It may not be one of the greatest songs of all time, but it’s certainly one of the greatest riffs, and is approved by metal heads, punk/indie rockers and pop fans. Even hip hop artists have sampled from it.
