Hackskeptic’s 500 Greatest Songs: The Ramones – I Wanna Be Sedated

208 – The Ramones – I Wanna Be Sedated (1979)
Written by Dee Dee Ramone, Joey Ramone and Johnny Ramone
Produced by Tommy Ramone and Ed Stasium
Label – Sire

Joey Ramone’s long term dislike of travelling from one concert hall to the next led to this absurd anthem that highlights how the band could create memorable tunes from rudimentary skills. Johnny Ramone’s single note guitar solo defends any notion that thrilling music doesn’t have to be technically difficult.
