Whatever Happened To…? Holly Sherwood

Holly Sherwood enjoyed a top 30 hit with her recording of the “Godspell” musical number “Day By Day” which remained in the U.K. charts for 7 weeks. A follow up single, “Yesterday And You” failed to chart, which effectively ended her solo career.

Sherwood continued to record and built her reputation providing backing vocals to top stars during the 70s and 80s including Billy Joel, Kenny Loggins, Cindy Bullens and Olivia Newton John’s “Let’s Get Physical”.

In 1983, she began a long and fruitful artistic relationship with Jim Steinman, providing extensive back up vocals on Bonnie Tyler’s “Faster Than The Speed Of Night” collection.

In the late 1980s Steinman formed the short lived Pandora’s Box, releasing one album “Original Sin”. Sherwood provided lead vocals on “Good Girls Go To Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)”, however, she did not appear in the promo video.

Since her singing career ended, Sherwood has run an art gallery and worked as a screenplay writer for Sherwood Scott Artists LLC.
