Hackskeptic’s 500 Greatest Songs: Michael Jackson – Human Nature

262 – Michael Jackson – Human Nature (1982)
Written by Steve Porcaro & John Bettis
Produced by Quincy Jones
Label – Epic

For all Jackson’s detractors, one thing for sure he could always interpret a song written for him with a performance that made it sound like his own creation. A magically uplifting introduction to the foundations for new jack swing, and that beautiful Steve Porcaro keyboard motif, expertly arranged by Quincy Jones. The sign of a great song is its influence, and snatches of “Human Nature” have been heard in many songs since proving its limitless value.

  1. Thanks for the reminder of this fine tune – I like to play it as the song of the day when we do ‘nature of the roots’ in grade 10 math. That or Sepultura’s Roots!
