Banned By The BBC (Part 15)

Moral panic and political censorship have created a long tradition of records filtered out of the BBC radio playlist. Here’s some notable examples…

D Mob – We Call It Acieeed (1988)

Banned due to its alleged references to drugs.

Heaven 17 – (We Don’t Need This) Fascist Groove Thang (1981)

Banned due to allegations that it was an insult to the Ronald Reagan Presidential administration.

Max Romeo – Wet Dream (1969)

Despite Romeo’s claims that it was about a leaky roof, it contained the lyric “give the fanny to me” and was banned from broadcast by the BBC.
