Hackskeptic’s 500 Greatest Songs: The Who – 5.15

267 – The Who – 5.15 (1973)
Written by Pete Townshend
Produced by The Who and Kit Lambert
Label – Track/MCA

Without doubt one of The Who’s most cutting, aggressive rockers they ever delivered, with brilliant performances from each member of the band. From Daltrey’s powerhouse vocal, Townshend’s bludgeoning riff, Entwistle’s brass accompaniment, and Moon just doing what Moon does, it erupts from the speakers with a passion few bands could ever muster. Roy Carr from the NME stated on its release, “5.15 is without doubt the most dynamic single released by anyone so far this year. The Who just seem to get better and better”.
