268 – Jesus Jones – Right Here, Right Now (1990)
Written by Mike Edwards
Produced by Jesus Jones
Label – Food/SBK

The 90s began with an enormous amount of optimism for all Europeans with the fall of the Berlin wall, perestroika, the rise of democracy in former communist countries, and the end of the cold war. It all inspired Mike Edwards for this immensely uplifting single and proved Jesus Jones as more than just a lightweight alt rock, dance influenced cross over act.

  1. Great tune! I was a fan of most of this album in fact. Welcome back Victoria, International bright young thing, fantastic.

    • You’re correct as ever JP. “Doubt” was an excellent record and I could have chosen “International Bright Young Thing” or “Real, Real, Real” for my top 500 and they both would have been worthy.

      • Yeah. Real, real, real was brilliant as well. I never did get into their later stuff though. I remember reading that they did a tour recently with Stereo MCs, Wonder Stuff, and PWEI. That’s plenty awesome.

      • Indeed, I saw them supporting INXS back in the day. Their next album “Perverse” was pretty good, but didn’t sell as well. I’d go and see that tour just to catch up with The Wonder Stuff and Jesus Jones. Sounds like a great night out!
