291 – Ash – Orpheus (2004)
Written by Tim Wheeler
Produced by Nick Raskulinecz
Label – Infectious

Ash released a series of excellent singles throughout the late 90s, all portraying a pop punk verve that seems perfectly natural to a trio in their late teens. By 2004 they had matured to an equally confident alternative rock that was aided by lead guitarist Charlotte Hatherley. Rick McMurray’s rumbling and explosive rhythms back a scorching dual guitar lick, and Tim Wheeler’s upbeat chorus makes for one of the feel good hits of all time.
