Moral panic and political censorship have created a long tradition of records filtered out of the BBC radio playlist. Here’s some notable examples…

Paul Simon – Kodachrome (1973)
Banned due to its use of a branded product in the lyrics.

The Shangri-Las – The Leader Of The Pack (1964)
Banned due to tragic demise of the hero.

McGuinness Flint – Let The People Go (1972)

Banned due to its reference to Northern Irish political prisoners at the height of “the Troubles”.
