Almost universally hated by the “hip” press, Mumford & Sons proved that quality song writing, emphatic delivery, and a superb live presence can overcome any of the detractors. The melancholic and dark lyrics of “Winter Winds” are contrasted with the most uplifting music and for this reviewer remains their greatest performance.
