Entombed have released 9 studio albums, of which their first two are still critically regarded as important to the genre. They developed what was termed a “buzz saw” sound and incorporated garage rock into their repertoire to create their own “death n’ roll”. The only permanent member throughout the years has been guitarist Alex Hellid.

Often cited as the pioneers of Norwegian black metal, Mayhem have released four studio albums and five live albums. Their debut, 1994s “De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas” is still regarded as their best. Controversy has marred their career, with the suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin in 1991, and the 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth. June 2014 sees the release of their first full length long player in seven years and is titled “Esoteric Warfare”.
