Kevin Donovan (AKA Afrika Bambaataa) brought a diversity to hip hop music that would influence future artists for years to come. Bambaataa loved rock music as much as he did R&B, dance and soul, and looked to combine his hip hop and techno with European electronic sounds from the likes of Kraftwerk. “Planet Rock” is the pinnacle of his pioneering spirit, and one of the most important hip hop songs in history.
