Written by Blur
Produced by Stephen Street

Who’d have thought one of the greatest brainless rockers would come from a band who had been often termed as “an inauthentic middle class pop band”. Guitarist Graham Coxon’s fascination with U.S. alternative rock and particularly Pavement led to this rip snorting single. To capture the intensity and urgency of the song, producer Stephen Street elected to capture Damon Albarn’s babbling guide vocal and use it, completely unedited. Would it have been the same song if they’d actually thought about it and added some studio finesse? No way! This is a masterpiece just as it is.
