Time passes and band’s leave a legacy. In this case one now realises that the transparent influences that made Oasis one of the most derivative rock acts in history makes searching for decent songs from their back catalogue meagre pickings. That said, “Live Forever” still sounds as vital as it did 20 years ago, and even though their future output would be patchy, this response to Kurt Cobain’s “I Hate Myself And I Want To Die” is as life affirming as intended.
