2009 saw New York’s finest Art popsters discovering synths and electro pop with incredible results. The biggest turnaround though is singer Karen O’s vocal confidence and exuberance, with added gasps and delight filled yelps. Pitchfork media’s Tom Ewing said of “Zero”,”In another world and a less bombed-out market it could have been their “Heart of Glass””. At no other time have the lines “You’re a zero. What’s your name? No one’s gonna ask you” sounded so joyous.
