10th June 2010: Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Pulled Apart By Horses

Monday (07/06) saw the release of Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti debut album for 4AD titled “Before Today”. Ariel’s brand of psychedelic pop has been around for a number of years now, but according to most critics the new album is the clearest indication that he’s about to breakthrough. The Hackskeptic’s not sure, but the opening single “Round And Round” has been on the playlist for the past month or so and shows no sign of disappearing yet. A full review of the album will be appearing on these pages in the next 48 hours, but until then, here’s the glorious single.

21st June sees the release of the debut album from Pulled Apart By Horses, imaginatively titled “Pulled Apart By Horses”. If the single “Back To The Fuck Yeah” is anything to go by, then the band show tons of dirty grit, gusto and promise.

Hackskeptic’s writing alter ego (Ben Heller) has been selected for the “RYM Reviewer Hall Of Fame” on the popular web site “Rate Your Music”. He’s a bum with nothing better to do than write drivel about music nobody listens to, so it’s with deep shock that we see he’s been nominated for this accolade.
